Minister for Health and Medical Services Hon. Rosy Sofia Akbar today commended students of the western division who took part in a two day Schools Chefs Competition.
Hosted by the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort & Spa, the annual competition allows students who aspire to become chefs to showcase their skills and also learn new techniques from renowned chefs from around the country. It is also supported by the Fiji Chefs Association and this year judges were chefs from New Zealand and Australia.
Minister Akbar thanked the students for their participation and urged them to be be ambassadors of healthy living while highlighting to them the increasing numbers of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). She reiterated the need for students to engage their families in daily activities, exercise, in order to remain healthy.
