The Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Hon. Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum today received a cheque of $15,000 from CPA Australia – Fiji for the “Adopt a School” Programme.
The AG said the donation is appreciated and will go towards the rebuild program of rebuilding back better as opposed to doing a slapstick approach.
“Ninety-five percent of all the schools that we are rebuilding did not have engineering plans. All of them now have architectural engineering plans. Those who are contributing to the program will have a plaque for whichever school they have contributed,” AG said.
The President of CPA Australia – Fiji, Mr Uday Sen said the contribution is part of their promise and commitment made in the last annual congress to assist one of the schools which got affected by TC Winston.
The 2017-2018 National Budget has allocated $170 million to rebuild and repair schools damaged by TC Winston.
