One of Governments cornerstone is ensuring that every Fijian accesses proper education.
This was highlighted by the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Hon. Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at the University of the South Pacific open day held at the Laucala campus today.
“Government is keen about education and as you may have known we have made education free so that our children access the best in education,” AG said.
“We have noticed that there is shortage of doctors, nurses, engineers and surveyors so with the introduction of the TOPPERS scholarship students are able to enrol in this area of study.”
The Attorney General also highlighted some of the Governments achieved in the last 7years and the economic growth.
AG urged the students present at the USP open today, to make good choices when enrolling into university and to ensure that to be passionate about the work each individual will do.
There were displays from the various faculties, students from around the country were able to access more information on the different programs offered at the university.
